Mary Stearly, founder of Mary’s Plate Holistic Weight Loss Consulting, is expanding her offerings to include monthly online challenges. These online events will focus on nutrition education, unscrambling misinformation from the diet industry, and creating healthy habits that can be used well after the challenge has ended. “I coach clients on the tools I implemented to help me lose over 100 pounds, which I have kept off for more than 20 years,” says Stearly, who is also a registered nurse. “It’s important to get back to the nutrition basics, which is what I teach my clients and what this online platform offers, in addition to other fun challenges.”
Those who register for the challenge receive access to a private Facebook group, weekly emails from Stearly, live Q&A sessions, a weight loss workbook, and recipes and tips on health and weight loss. “People tend to be more successful at losing weight and changing habits when they are in a group setting,” explains Stearly. “It also provides support and accountability they might not otherwise have from people all over the country with similar goals, and I can help more people at a lower cost to the client.”
Stearly affirms that August’s challenge was a great success. “On average, clients lost between one to 1.5 pounds per week, and more importantly, they learned to have a better relationship with food and themselves,” she says. “The next challenge begins September 10.”
